BENDA

 BENDA

Biography

Benda is a young, emerging artist born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. His highly sophisticated metal assemblage sculptures are exhibited worldwide. After apprenticing under
world renowned artist Joel Amit for a few years, Benda was ready to begin creating his own body of work.
His first exhibition was impressive enough to land an international show in San Francisco. His work focuses on portraiture of pop culture icons like Marilyn Monroe, Frida Kahlo and John Lennon. He laser-cuts stainless steel into 10-20 individual pieces, layering them accordingly by welding them together to compose the final portrait. Each piece is hand-painted with car paint and finished with a beautiful coat of enamel. Built to withstand weathering all year round, Benda's high-quality sculptures can be displayed both indoors and outdoors. His unique approach to assemblage sculpture is bound to set him apart from pop artists around the world.
