JOEL MOENS DE HASE

ENJOY YOUR DAY ON THE SLOPES

JOEL MOENS DE HASE

The background is made up of thousands of photographic fragments of feminine curves. In the foreground stands an image that radiates intensity, a symbol of intimacy, a face. The photo mosaics of Joël Moens de Hase first began to emerge in 2011. They rapidly caught the interest of a national and international viewership, and both were highly receptive. This digital art form, a contemporary alternative of pixel art and pointillism, has the ability to surprise and seduce through the originality and aesthetics of the concept.

J. LEO

EXPLORE NEW SURROUNDINGS

“Corps Pour Elles” presents the recent work of the photographer carried out over the past 3 years on the theme of the bodyscape (literally body-landscape). It is about using a part of the naked body, here exclusively female, as a starting point to tell stories using small figurines and accessories. Acting like a trompe l'oeil, the composition staged appears at first glance like an authentic landscape. But on closer observation, we discover that this "natural" setting is misleading. The naked body serves as a background, while artificial elements the focal point.

MAX STEVEN GROSSMAN

GET WARM AND COSY ON A SNOWY EVENING

MAX STEVEN GROSSMAN

The emergence of virtual, digital worlds has affected almost every aspect of contemporary life. These « Bookscapes » question these transformations. Printed large enough to pass as an actual library, these images point to the gradual loss of paper books, especially those that inhabited homes and fostered learning, dreaming, escaping. Grossman turns these libraries into commodities of the art world, that can be purchased according to themes: art, film, music, fashion… The books in every image have never quite been placed in that way except in the virtual space of his computer. Grossman photographs some of the books in bookstores he visits. He builds his own collections with photos that come from different places.

ANTOINE ROSE

GO ON AN ADVENTURE IN WINTER WONDERLAND

Logo Logo

ANTOINE ROSE

Antoine rose has commenced working on “up in the air” series in 2002, while he was shooting the kitesurfing world cup in Rio de Janeiro. The oversized photographs oblige the viewer to have a closer look in order to distinguish what they really represent. With regard to this aspect, rose’s powerful camera allows for the highest resolution even for the smallest detail. These miniature-like representations transform the natural aerial landscapes into abstract paintings and inscribe rose’s works in a minimalist artistic approach. The artist introduces a tension between real and virtual, between what it seems to be seen and what it is really seen, between the visible and the hidden.

ANNE VALVERDE

A Parisian photographer, Anne Valverde is  fascinated by urban spaces and graphism of landscapes. She notably tries to make dream about people by photographs of idyllic decors. In her job, she links calligraphy and light, her two main passions. The distinctiveness of her work lies in the colorization of certain details of her photos taken in black and white. The purpose of her photos: be imaginative springboards, " windows with views ". Through the medium of neon, she revives the essence of the word "photograph", which means " writing with light " in greek.
