PRESENTING WORKS BY

JULIEN MARINETTI

Logo Logo

The painter, sculptor, engraver and illustrator has his own unique and novel artistic approach: merging painting and sculpture, he has created what he calls “the syncretism of art". His sculptures, bulldogs, pandas, penguins, cranes and teddy bears are made out of clay, then bronze. These tridimensional works express his neoexpressionist painting style as if on canvas. The spectator must walk around the work to discover all its subtlety and secrets. Whether they are life-size or in larger formats, Marinetti’s works are unique.

MAX STEVEN GROSSMAN

The emergence of virtual, digital worlds has affected almost every aspect of contemporary life. These « Bookscapes » question these transformations. Printed large enough to pass as an actual library, these images point to the gradual loss of paper books, especially those that inhabited homes and fostered learning, dreaming, escaping. Grossman turns these libraries into commodities of the art world, that can be purchased according to themes: art, film, music, fashion… The books in every image have never quite been placed in that way except in the virtual space of his computer. Grossman photographs some of the books in bookstores he visits. He builds his own collections with photos that come from different places.

EPSYLON POINT

Logo Logo

A precursor of French urban art, Epsylon Point is also recognised as the pioneer of coloured stencilling from 1983 onwards. Starting out as a graffiti artist, he only developed his stencil technique later when he moved to the 15th arrondissement of Paris. His work deals with major human tragedies and the perversity of capitalist systems, just as he denounces dictatorships. He develops on canvas the subjects he has painted in the street with the same conviction. His technique is based on abstract backgrounds painted freehand, onto which he places stencils often inspired by news photos or political slogans.
