PRESENTING WORKS BY

PIMAX

He now occupies a special place in the world of street art. He plays with codes of contemporary art and revisits the option of stencils and resin sculptures, themes of the eighties. Wars survivor, the cherub hedonistic or the bird caught in an oil spill… Through his work emerges a scathing critique of the consumer society, quid the packaging of all kinds hanging from the ceiling of his studio, creating a pop chaotic universe in wich he lives and works surrounded by his creations. These packages serve as inspiration and models from which he draws his molds.

JOSEPH

SANTIAGO MONTOYA

PAUL ROUSSO

Present on the artistic scene since 1985, Joseph is influenced by all the symbols of a popular culture of mass. He is part of this new generation of prolix artists animated by a desire of dialogue, in opposition to the radicality of the 70s. Drawing on the work of his peers, this visual artist uses all media and hijacks the old papers that are witnesses of our contemporary culture. He wonders about the question of the essential intervention of pigments and pastes as the only form of expression.

After over 10 years of exploration to find a formal structure for his art, the Columbian artist came across the idea of using money to paint, finding meaning and purpose in his work. His creative process is very long since can spend over a thousand hours to create one single piece of art, acquiring up to 3300 banknotes and finally putting them on panel. He also uses paper world currencies, precisous stones, sculpture and neon. Montoya speak with humour about global subjects that affect us all.

He studied at the Institute of visual Arts of Orléans, graduating in 2001. In 1997, during one of the workshops, the grinning cat was born. In his now omnipresent symbol, the culture of the neighborhood meets the never-ending optimism of the artist, making a combination that is easily recognizable and widely famous. His dream of uniting human beings, different as they might be, is now possible. Behind that image lies all the simplicity of a smile painted on a wall, and all the power that comes with it.

Rousso's fascination with paper - currency, advertising, newspapers, magazines - its history and use, its rise and fall, is an emblematic theme reflected frequently in his compositions. Despite the complexity of Rousso's artistic output, the character and subject matter of his art is relatable to all. Rousso relentlessly excels at his efforts to evolve as an artist who will put forth an enduring impact on subsequent generations with his life’s work, “Flat Depth.”

The acclaimed artist Karl Lagasse came into prominence in 2009 with his “One Dollar” sculptures. Karl began his artistic journey with his collages when he was 7 years old. In the same year, he met the French sculptor César Baldaccini who inspired Karl to continue developing his work. He ventured into the Paris metro where tagging and graffiti became his predominant world of creation. However, his collages remained his true passion. It was the artist Yvaral Vasarely that suggested Karl incorporate his collages with his tags.

Tran$parent specializes in museum quality, ultra-fine money art, specifically American denominations from the $1 to the $10,000 bill and with special granted requests the Million Dollar Bill, but also in various International currencies. He depicts the front, back and middle security features of his bills. His art is actually a metaphor for being transparent with your loved ones, with your business associates, but most importantly with yourself. He fine tunes and controls each image to ensure the highest possible vibrancy.

THOMAR

BYĆ

PIMAX

Passionate about caviar, its history and its actors, his sculptural paintings highlight this passion in an original and generous way. He then extended his art to other objects. Incessant ballets, unctuous drips, the metal tins, in turn, destructured or perfectly geometric, surprise you. The tins, which he has collected over the years, become the actors of scenes around which he gives life to caviar grains or coins with great realism. Thomar's artworks are an ode to a forgotten refinement that he likes to share with us by combining the authenticity of materials with a modern graphic design.

Thirsty Bstrd is multidisciplinary and self-taught artist living and working in Paris, France. Drawing inspiration from contemporary art and pop-culture, his work explores a critical view of social and cultural issues. Through the use of urban art tools, he aims to create funny and thought-provoking works of art by giving powerful symbols and popular images a humorous twist. "By merging ingenious statements with paradoxical images, Thirsty Bstrd creates artworks that are truly fascinating and thought-provoking."

For Być, there is a kind of complicit association between the used object, whose poetry he perceives from the previous use, and what it inspires him. Thus is defined his vision of contemporary art and Street Art, which goes from the street to the greatest museums, which challenges codes, the world, sometimes mocks, often denounces, or admires. For Być, to provoke is to create thoughts, to mix and connect people, times, styles and perceptions. To hyper-consumption, he opposes recycling, to intolerance, he imposes humour or emotion.
