Jisbar (born Jean-Baptiste Launay on June 7th 1989 in Val-d'Isère) is a French painter. His style is characterized by a re-interpretation of great historical works by artists such as Klimt, Vermeer or Michelangelo by mixing pop art and street art. It was at the age of 16 that he found his style and by the time he reached 19, he began selling his first paintings. It was in 2010, when one of his works appeared on a video by YouTuber Norman, his first client, that his career accelerated. The artist explains: “He was at the very beginning of his career, there was a painting of mine in the background of one of his videos which in turn allowed me to find galleries”. At only 28 years old, his work had been exhibited in several countries around the world: Malmö, Abu Dhabi, Santa Cruz, London... And many brands such as luxury shoemaker J.M. Weston had used his services to customize their products.
