PHILIPPE SHANGTI

Born in 1983, Philippe Shangti is an essential contemporary French photographer whose striking and provocative visual universe has left a profound mark on the international art scene. Through his bold and socially engaged photographs, he explores themes that blend provocation, glamour, and excess. In 2019, he officially represented the Principality of Andorra at the 58th Venice Biennale. Since 2020, his works have been featured at the Museum of Fine Arts in Carcassonne. The following year, the Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art in Saint Petersburg dedicated a major exhibition to him, titled Flavor of Sensuality. In June 2024, Philippe Shangti became the most highly valued living French photographer after one of his works sold for €290,000 at the L’Astarossa auction in Monaco. The year 2025 begins with yet another recognition: his masterpiece Mona Lisa Released is exhibited in January at the prestigious BRAFA in Brussels.
